Inspired by a visit to Mae Sot in Tak province, Thailand, Brian Pern was deeply moved and decided to launch a charity project aimed at improving the lives of Burmese refugees and at-risk Thai young adults. Using his expertise, he founded "One Chef at a Time" to teach them valuable culinary skills.

After nearly 7 years and with demand for our students rapidly growing, we decided to start a Foundation.

New build.
the introduction of a new building designed specifically to continue our training in a professional environment. The new build will have modern culinary equipment including an air conditioned bakery department, meeting/classroom, office, store and adjoining training restaurant facility. We have named the new building after a long time supporter Montague Ball (1938-2024)
